About this plugin
Applied Acoustics Systems' Session Bundle consolidates three complementary instruments designed for rapid musical iteration without sacrificing sonic authenticity. The collection pairs physical modeling technology with practical workflow considerations that distinguish it from broader synth packages.
Lounge Lizard Session delivers electric piano emulation grounded in the company's decades of piano modeling expertise. The instrument captures the mechanical complexity of vintage Fender Rhodes and Wurlitzer designs through synthesis parameters affecting mallet behavior, pickup response, and tine resonance. Rather than relying on sampled recordings, the modeling approach enables genuine tonal customization. The integrated effects chain - tremolo, chorus, phaser, and reverb - are voiced specifically for electric piano rather than applied generically. A character knob provides five distinct signal path emulations, addressing both studio and stage requirements.

Strum Session approaches guitar simulation differently, combining acoustic and electric instruments with real-time chord recognition and voicing. The MIDI-driven architecture allows keyboard players to trigger authentic strumming patterns, hammer-ons, and articulations without extensive guitar technique. The chord library accommodates open, movable, and drop voicings, adapting to user input intelligently.
The Bundle serves producers and composers seeking authentic textural foundation instruments rather than complete synthesis platforms. The modeling-based approach resists the brittle characteristics of sample playback while remaining CPU efficient. Audio engineers will appreciate the signal chain transparency, particularly Lounge Lizard's customizable parameters and effects routing. This collection functions most effectively as a complement to broader DAW instrument sets, excelling where sonic character and playability intersect with production speed.
