UNCHIRP is Zynaptiq's specialized tool for addressing the specific artifacts introduced by FFT-based processing, particularly the chirping, musical noise, and transient degradation that plague lossy codec compression and aggressive spectral processing. The plugin tackles these issues through a multi-pronged approach: chirp suppression targets the characteristic high-frequency warbling artifacts, while a dedicated musical noise reduction circuit addresses the granular tonal debris common in heavily compressed or de-noised material. Critically, UNCHIRP includes transient synthesis to restore or augment the leading edge definition lost during compression or limiting, restoring the punch and clarity that FFT processing typically obscures.

The frequency-dependent processing relies on a break-point curve editor, allowing precise control over which regions receive treatment. The psycho-acoustically optimized treble circuit operates in both Enhance and Excite modes, the former providing surgical restoration and the latter adding subjective presence and vibrancy. For stereo material encoded in joint-stereo format, a dedicated side-only algorithm mode prevents interference with the centered mix while addressing artifacts in the difference signal. An HD mode is available for offline processing when CPU overhead demands flexibility.
