About this plugin
élastiqueAAX brings zplane's battle-tested élastiquePro V3 engine into Pro Tools as an offline Audio Suite processor. The plugin handles time-stretching across a 25% to 400% range and pitch-shifting up to +/- 24 semitones, supporting up to eight channels simultaneously. What distinguishes élastiqueAAX from native Pro Tools time-stretching tools is processing speed and sonic consistency. As an offline plugin, it renders substantially faster than real-time alternatives, a meaningful advantage when working with extended session timelines or batch processing multiple regions.
The élastiquePro V3 algorithm prioritizes maintaining harmonic integrity across extreme stretches and shifts. This manifests as minimal artifacts in transient-heavy material like drums or percussion, and natural-sounding pitch movement on vocals and melodic content. The formant preservation presets specifically address film post-production workflows, handling standard pull-up and pull-down scenarios without introducing the characteristic "chipmunk" or "baritone" pitch-shifting artifacts that plague simpler algorithms.

élastiqueAAX suits mixing engineers managing tempo-locked assembly or dialog replacement, as well as music producers correcting performance timing without losing harmonic character. Post-production facilities and scoring stages benefit from dedicated film preset optimization. While Pro Tools' built-in time-stretching has improved substantially, élastiqueAAX delivers noticeably cleaner results on complex material, justifying installation in professional environments where sonic compromise undermines final output.
The interface prioritizes straightforward parameter access rather than visual embellishment, reflecting professional design priorities consistent with zplane's reputation across cinema and broadcast applications.
