About this plugin
ElastiquePitch V2.5 represents a mature implementation of real-time pitch shifting built on zplane's established ELASTIQUEPRO engine, the same technology underlying pitch correction in several professional DAWs. The plugin handles both monophonic and polyphonic material with transparent quality across a +/- 1 octave range, maintaining phase coherence and transient definition that distinguishes it from more basic pitch-shifting algorithms.
The core strength lies in independent pitch and formant control, allowing producers to separate melodic transposition from the spectral characteristics of a source. This separation proves particularly valuable for vocal processing, where pitch shifting can be divorced from formant changes to preserve or alter perceived gender and character. The redesigned interface consolidates essential parameters into immediate access, reducing menu diving during real-time performance.

Beyond standard pitch shifting, the plugin includes Grain Freeze and Pitch Delay functions that extend into sound design territory. Grain Freeze creates texturally interesting frozen moments with pitch modulation applied, while Pitch Delay generates syncopated repeats with shifted tonality. MIDI control enables keyboard-based transposition with pitch bend expression, applicable both to performance and automation workflows.
ElastiquePitch V2.5 sits competently within a crowded market alongside tools like Melodyne and Native Instruments' Flex Pitch. Where it distinguishes itself is in transparent, CPU-efficient operation across plugin formats. It's best suited for engineers seeking reliable, neutral pitch manipulation without character coloration, particularly those already integrated with zplane's ecosystem or requiring creative delay and grain tools alongside essential pitch shifting functionality.
