About this plugin
Waves' collaboration with 10-time Grammy-winning mixer Manny Marroquin distills his personal studio approach into a comprehensive reverb plugin designed for professional mixing workflows. Rather than offering a single reverb algorithm with parameters, the plugin presents six distinct reverb types - Hall, Room, Plate, Chamber, Space, and Ambience - each available in three size variants, reflecting Marroquin's philosophy that different sources demand fundamentally different acoustic spaces.
The reverb engine forms the foundation, but Marroquin's mixing methodology requires shaping. To that end, the plugin integrates a slow-attack, fast-release compressor alongside three-band EQ with wide shelving at the frequency extremes and a broad midrange bell. These tools sit before the reverb, allowing engineers to condition the character of the effect itself rather than merely processing its output. The thru-zero flanger adds textural dimension without requiring the reverb, while parallel distortion creates the subtle "fog" effect Marroquin employs on longer tails.

Technical specifications support both subtlety and experimentation. Pre-delay extends to 500ms, and a reverb time multiplier (50-200%) provides creative tempo manipulation. Whether deployed on individual tracks or across buses, the plugin responds intuitively to mixing intentions.
The 37 included presets from mixers including Ross Hogarth and Tony Maserati provide immediate reference points. However, the plugin's true value emerges when engineers move beyond presets to construct custom reverb signatures that serve their specific mixes. This makes it essential for professionals seeking a reverb tool that functions less as a black box and more as an extension of deliberate mixing decisions.
