About this plugin
InPhase LT is a streamlined phase alignment tool designed for the practical demands of modern tracking and mixing. Built on the architecture of Waves' full InPhase plugin, it addresses a fundamental problem in multitrack recording: when you capture the same source through different microphones or via both direct and amplified signals, timing and phase inconsistencies create phase cancellation and frequency-dependent comb filtering. InPhase LT solves this with precise delay adjustment (up to ±20 milliseconds) and a phase flip button that handles simple polarity issues, like reversed XLR wiring.
Where InPhase LT distinguishes itself is its dual allpass filter section. Rather than treating phase as a single global problem, the shelf and bell filters allow you to reshape phase response across the frequency spectrum. This proves essential when, for example, low-end instruments are in phase but midrange content shows destructive interaction. The variable Q control provides surgical frequency targeting or broader sculpting depending on your mixing approach.

The plugin ships in mono, stereo, and live variants, making it accessible across different DAW setups and live mixing scenarios. Beyond straightforward phase correction, experienced engineers often repurpose the allpass filters for creative processing - the delay automation feature enables through-zero flanging when applied across multiple tracks, yielding classic modulation effects.
InPhase LT occupies practical middle ground: it's more capable than basic phase flip utilities but demands less CPU overhead and learning curve than full-featured linear phase correction tools. It's indispensable for tracking-heavy studios and mixing engineers working with blended source material.
