About this plugin
Feedback Hunter addresses a fundamental problem in live sound: the tedious, often imprecise process of ringing out monitors and PA systems. Rather than manually sweeping frequencies to identify problematic resonances, this plugin analyzes the acoustic relationship between a microphone and its monitor or main output, then generates a comprehensive EQ curve optimized to maximize gain before feedback across the entire spectrum.
The technical approach distinguishes it from single-notch feedback suppressors. Feedback Hunter processes the full frequency range during setup rather than reacting to feedback during performance. This makes it most valuable during soundcheck, when engineers can dedicate time to the analysis process without pressure. The plugin works reliably in moderately noisy environments, which is critical for realistic venue conditions.

Setup takes as little as 30 seconds once you understand the workflow: select your input source, engage the analysis, and the plugin generates an adaptive EQ response. The tool includes customizable parameters to narrow affected frequency ranges, allowing engineers to preserve tonal character while eliminating problematic peaks.
Feedback Hunter is particularly suited for touring engineers, installed system operators, and smaller venues where traditional ringing-out methods demand expertise many operators don't possess. It democratizes a skill that typically requires years of experience. While not a replacement for critical listening and artistic EQ choices, it provides a fast, data-driven foundation that removes guesswork from the technical setup phase.
