About this plugin
The Softube Curve Bender is a component-modeled recreation of the equalizer circuits found in the EMI TG12345 console, the legendary desk that shaped countless classic recordings at Abbey Road Studios. This heritage makes it one of the most sonically credible mastering equalizers available in plugin form.
The plugin's character emerges from its germanium and inductor circuit modeling, which imparts the smooth, musical coloration that defines vintage British console EQ. Rather than clinical precision, the Curve Bender operates with gentle, carefully constructed filter curves that achieve tonal refinement without obvious artifacts. The low end remains tight and controlled while the upper midrange and treble exhibit the silky, transparent quality that made the original hardware indispensable for mastering work.

Beyond faithful analog emulation, the software version substantially expands the original's capabilities. Four parametric bands replace the console's two fixed bands, supported by 51 selectable fixed filter points - a remarkable expansion from the original nine. Additional high and low pass filters provide essential tools for surgical problem-solving. The inclusion of Mid/Side processing represents a meaningful addition unavailable on the hardware, enabling independent tonal sculpting of stereo and mono information.
The Curve Bender serves mastering engineers and critical-listening producers who prioritize sonic integrity and require tools that enhance rather than announce themselves. Among mastering-grade plugins, it occupies an elite position, combining undisputed sonic pedigree with practical flexibility. Its strength lies not in flashy tone-shaping but in the ability to subtly perfect mixes with the same signal path that produced albums that defined generations.
