About this plugin
Pivot is a tilt equalizer that approaches spectral balancing with admirable simplicity. Rather than offering parametric precision across multiple bands, it operates on a single pivot point, allowing you to shift energy between low and high frequencies along an adjustable slope. This design philosophy proves surprisingly effective for corrective work and tonal shaping, particularly when you need to warm a harsh mix or add presence without surgical intervention.
The core strength lies in its mid/side processing capability. This elevates Pivot beyond a basic tone control, enabling separate treatment of mono and stereo information. For mastering applications, this means you can tighten loose stereo bass without affecting the centered low end, or brighten the side channel independently to enhance width in the treble range. The ability to address these concerns independently is genuinely useful when conventional full-spectrum EQ creates unwanted side effects.

CPU efficiency makes Pivot practical for dense sessions. Multiple instances across a mix bus and individual tracks introduce negligible load, making it an appealing alternative to heavier parametric solutions when you're making quick decisions. The plugin also offers simple shelf boosts and cuts for straightforward level adjustments.
Pivot is best suited for mixing and mastering engineers seeking a complementary tool to their main EQ arsenal. It's not designed to replace surgical parametric equalization, but rather to streamline the common task of global spectral balancing. Its tilt approach feels intuitive and musical, making it particularly valuable when you need to make confident tonal moves without excessive parameter tweaking. The mid/side functionality adds practical dimension that justifies its place in contemporary production chains.
