eMo Q4 Equalizer

Waves' eMo Q4 is a stripped-down, performance-focused parametric EQ designed explicitly for live mixing scenarios where latency and CPU overhead cannot be tolerated. Built into the eMotion LV1 console, it operates with zero latency and minimal processing demands, making it suitable for both integrated live mixing workflows and standalone plugin deployment.

The four-band architecture covers the frequency spectrum with considerable flexibility. Each band operates in parametric mode by default, allowing independent control of frequency, gain, and Q. Beyond standard parametric operation, the high and low bands switch into shelf modes - with the high band offering resonant shelf or lowpass filtering, and the low band providing resonant shelf or highpass filtering at 12 dB per octave slopes. This dual-mode approach lets engineers address both surgical corrective EQ and broader tonal shaping within a single interface.

The plugin's single-screen design and multitouch response reflect genuine operational priorities for live environments. All parameters remain visible and immediately accessible without menu diving. Individual band bypass switching adds practical flexibility for rapid A/B comparisons during soundchecks or mid-performance adjustments. The ability to configure channels as either independent mono EQs or linked stereo pairs accommodates both mono monitor sends and stereo main outputs.
