About this plugin
The Broadcast and Surround Suite consolidates Waves' most essential tools for professional surround and stereo broadcast workflows. This collection addresses a specific production need: delivering mixes that maintain sonic integrity across multiple delivery formats while meeting stringent loudness standards.
The suite's core strength lies in its 360-degree surround processing chain. The C360 compressor and L360 limiter provide multichannel dynamic control with transparent character, essential for maintaining consistent levels across 5.1 stems. The R360 reverb and S360 imager handle spatial enhancement, though these are functional rather than exotic in character. The M360 manager simplifies the often-tedious process of surround mixing and downmixing, which remains genuinely useful for engineers juggling multiple format deliveries.

What distinguishes this suite is the inclusion of DTS Neural upmixing and downmixing algorithms. These machine-learning based tools handle format conversion with considerably more sophistication than basic matrix mixing, particularly when translating between stereo and surround domains. The precision loudness meters - WLM Plus and Dorrough Surround - are practically essential for broadcast work, where regulatory compliance is non-negotiable.
The addition of real-time noise suppression via WNS and NS1 acknowledges the practical realities of broadcast production, where dialogue clarity and background noise management directly impact deliverable quality.
This suite is purpose-built for broadcast engineers, post-production facilities, and streaming platforms managing multi-format delivery. While it lacks the sonic character tools that appeal to music producers, for its intended application - professional, compliant, transparent surround mixing - it remains a solid, comprehensive solution that justifies the investment.
