About this plugin
Waves' B360 addresses a genuine workflow bottleneck in immersive audio production: converting conventional mono, stereo, and surround recordings into industry-standard Ambisonics B-format. As spatial audio demand accelerates across YouTube, Facebook, gaming platforms, and VR applications, the ability to efficiently encode traditional sources into the four-channel B-format representation has become essential rather than optional.
The plugin's core strength lies in its straightforward approach to what is technically complex work. Rather than requiring specialized knowledge of Ambisonics mathematics, B360 presents intuitive controls for width, rotation, and elevation that position sound sources within a complete spherical soundfield. This means you can encode individual tracks at the mixing stage with precise spatial placement, or apply the plugin across your final stereo or surround mix for comprehensive format conversion. The accuracy of its panning algorithms and support for up to seven simultaneous image sources distinguishes it from basic encoding solutions.

B360 follows the widely adopted AmbiX convention, ensuring compatibility across most modern immersive workflows and delivery pipelines. The included AmbiX to FuMa conversion utilities provide flexibility for facilities working with legacy Ambisonics implementations, a practical consideration often overlooked by newer spatial audio tools.
The interface successfully translates traditional mixing paradigms into the spatial domain, making adoption friction minimal for engineers without specialized Ambisonics experience. Whether mixing discrete 360-degree content or converting existing stereo masters for immersive distribution, B360 functions as a reliable, architecturally sound solution to a production requirement that increasingly defines contemporary audio delivery.
