About this plugin
United Guitar Essentials consolidates two specialized amp simulation tools into a single, practical bundle designed for producers who need efficient guitar and bass processing without unnecessary complexity. At its core sits Electrum Core, a stripped-down version of United Plugins' flagship Electrum that focuses on amp and cabinet modeling while eliminating supplementary effects. The plugin includes five amp types spanning clean to high-gain territory, paired with over 300 cabinet simulations derived from 16 distinct cabinet architectures. Bassment Core provides parallel functionality for bass sources, offering dedicated amp modeling with dozens of cabinet options tailored to low-end instruments.
Both tools employ intelligent input analysis that automatically calibrates gain staging by analyzing the incoming signal's peak levels, addressing a persistent problem in amp simulation: achieving optimal signal-to-noise ratio at the plugin's internal processing point. This automation yields noticeably cleaner results than manual adjustment in most tracking scenarios.

The bundle targets two distinct user categories: newcomers to guitar recording who find full-featured amp simulators overwhelming, and experienced engineers seeking lightweight processing that integrates cleanly alongside other effects chains. The inclusion of DIFIX, United Plugins' DI correction tool, acknowledges a practical reality that many home and project studios lack dedicated direct injection hardware.
Sonically, Electrum Core delivers transparent, usable tones across genres without the colorization that some competing plugins introduce. The cabinet modeling demonstrates particular clarity, avoiding the boxiness that plagues lower-tier simulations. While it sacrifices the deep customization of its full-featured counterpart, the streamlined workflow and genuine sonic quality make United Guitar Essentials a solid entry point for serious recording.
