About this plugin
TrapTune is a comprehensive vocal processing suite built around automatic pitch correction, designed with modern hip-hop and trap production in mind but equally viable across pop, R&B, and electronic music. The plugin's architecture centers on its Tune-in section, which blends natural pitch correction with hard-tuning capabilities in a single, intuitive interface. Unlike traditional tuning tools that separate these functions, TrapTune's unified intensity control manages both correction speed and the intensity of artificial pitch shifting, allowing producers to dial in anything from transparent intonation fixes to pronounced vocal artifacts.
Beyond tuning, the plugin functions as a complete vocal toolkit. A second-voice section generates harmony or unison doubling with semitone transposition and octave shifting, while a dedicated stereo doubler thickens vocals instantly. The distortion engine, governed by just two parameters, proves versatile enough to add warmth through gentle saturation or introduce aggression when needed. Delay and reverb modules round out the package with plate reverb specifically voiced for vocals and a feedback-capable delay with standard time controls.

The strength of TrapTune lies in its restraint. Rather than overwhelming users with countless parameters, Soundevice Digital has prioritized intuitive control structures that encourage experimentation without demanding deep technical knowledge. This design philosophy makes it accessible to engineers new to pitch correction while offering seasoned professionals the depth needed for nuanced vocal processing. The preset library provides sensible starting points across various vocal styles and mix scenarios.
TrapTune occupies a practical middle ground between specialized tuning software and general-purpose vocal plugins, making it a legitimate workhorse for contemporary vocal production.
