About this plugin
Cyberdrive is a comprehensive distortion plugin that addresses a genuine gap in modern production tools. Rather than offering a single sonic character, it provides 64 distortion models organized across eight categories, each with distinct sonic and technical foundations. This approach acknowledges that different sources and creative intentions demand fundamentally different distortion behaviors.
The plugin's architecture centers on a modular design allowing up to three distortion modules in series, each with independent gain-compensated drive and mix controls. Critically, every module includes filtering options - high-pass, low-pass, and multiband crossovers - enabling precise tonal sculpting that prevents distortion from muddying frequency-critical material. This is essential for maintaining clarity in dense mixes.

The three analogue simulation categories cover established ground: Classic emulates vintage gear warmth, Pedal recreates guitar stompbox character, and Amp simulates amplifier saturation. The Modern section introduces contemporary techniques including multiband compression and wave-folding. Pixel delivers digital artifacts through bit-crushing and rate reduction, while Shape focuses on wave-shaping and asymmetric clipping. The Doom section provides extreme saturation for those requiring aggressive textures.
Cyberdrive suits producers seeking flexibility within a single plugin rather than maintaining multiple specialized tools. Mix engineers will appreciate the filtering controls for clinical distortion application, while sound designers will find genuine sonic exploration in the Modern, Pixel, and Freak categories. The Control parameter on each model adds further customization potential beyond simple intensity adjustment.
The plugin represents a matured approach to distortion design - acknowledging that efficacy requires both versatility and surgical precision.
