About this plugin
Bassment is United Plugins' comprehensive bass processing suite, engineered around a flexible amp model designed to handle the full frequency spectrum of bass guitar with surgical precision. The plugin operates on a philosophy of intelligent gain staging combined with granular frequency control, making it a serious tool for mix engineers and bass players seeking professional results without excessive menu diving.
The core strength lies in its smart input analysis feature, which automatically calibrates gain structure to match your signal's characteristics with the plugin's optimal processing range. This foundational approach eliminates guesswork and ensures consistent performance across different instruments and playing styles. The EQ matching capability adds genuine utility - analyzing reference tracks to automatically align your bass tone with professional recordings sets this plugin apart from generic amp simulators.

The amp section itself avoids affectation, instead offering a muscular 5-band EQ alongside dedicated low-end compression and presence controls. Bass treatment is compartmentalized logically: a dedicated low-frequency compressor handles punch and sustain, while separate midrange and treble sections provide character shaping without overwhelming complexity. The inclusion of 15 cabinet simulations ensures tonal flexibility across genre contexts, from controlled studio treatments to aggressive stage-like coloration.
Bassment suits working producers and mix engineers who need reliable, predictable bass processing that responds to actual input characteristics rather than preset assumptions. Its straightforward architecture and analytical approach position it between simplistic amp plugins and unwieldy modular systems. For those prioritizing transparent gain staging and accurate frequency control over vintage character emulation, Bassment delivers professional-grade results that maintain clarity and definition through dense mixes.
