About this plugin
UFX DISTORT represents UJAM's most comprehensive distortion toolkit, offering 20 distinctly different saturation and distortion algorithms that span from subtle tape compression to extreme digital folding. The plugin architecture prioritizes versatility without sacrificing sonic coherence, making it equally effective as a subtle mix glue tool or an aggressive character device.
The algorithm selection reflects genuine engineering thought rather than superficial variety. Classic emulations like tube drive and amp simulation sit alongside unconventional processors: multiband distortion modes that treat frequency ranges independently, inharmonic shifting that warps harmonic content rather than simply clipping, and ring modulation variants that introduce modulation at audio rates. The clean bass algorithm preserves low-end definition while distorting upper frequencies, addressing a common mixing challenge. For electronic producers, the EDM distortion mode and foldback algorithms provide the aggressive, spectrally complex sounds contemporary production demands.

UFX DISTORT performs strongest when layered across mix elements rather than relegated to single-track duties. Kick drum punch, vocal presence, and bass harmonic enhancement all respond well to the plugin's algorithms. The multiband modes prove particularly valuable for managing spectral balance while adding saturation, a task that typically requires multiple tools.
Within UJAM's product ecosystem, this loyalty upgrade path acknowledges existing users and provides significant functional depth at favorable pricing. The plugin competes directly with mainstream saturation suites while maintaining a distinct sonic signature less polished than boutique options, making it suitable for producers seeking character-driven distortion with practical mixing applications rather than emulation purity. Implementation quality remains consistent across all modes, ensuring reliable performance in professional contexts.
