About this plugin
Ueberschall's Resonator Guitar library delivers 1.8 GB of meticulously recorded samples capturing the distinctive metallic resonance of traditional National Tricone and Dobro-style instruments. The collection comprises 800 performance loops organized across 100 folders at 80 and 120 BPM, each centered around a single musical phrase with three separate guitar recordings for tonal variety.
The technical implementation offers significant mixing flexibility. Each phrase includes isolated mic and DI recordings without processing, alongside two pre-blended stereo versions of all three combined recordings. This approach allows engineers to shape the resonator's characteristic bright, percussive attack and sustain decay according to their project's requirements, whether emphasizing the instrument's natural ring or controlling its aggressive high-frequency content.

Integrated within the Elastik player engine, the library benefits from robust pitch and tempo manipulation capabilities that function transparently across contemporary DAWs. The interface provides intuitive browser management for auditioning and time-stretching loops to match project tempos without the artifacts common in lesser implementations.
While the resonator's traditional association with blues, bluegrass, and country music remains its strongest application, the instrument's compact, percussive character translates effectively to contemporary pop, R&B, and rock contexts. The tonal distinctiveness that defines resonators - their metallic sustain and natural compression - offers textural counterpoint in modern production.
For producers seeking authentic resonator textures without recording constraints, Resonator Guitar represents a practical library with professional-grade samples and sufficient performance variety for compositional flexibility.
