About this plugin
Ueberschall's Electric Sitar library presents a curated collection of 1,600+ loops spanning 2.6GB, anchored by 445 phrases sourced from a Danelectro Sitar and captured in both amp and DI configurations. The core strength lies in the sitar content itself: extended melodic passages reaching 12 seconds with natural decay, alongside shorter licks, individual chord voicings, and performance effects. Original recordings span 78 to 128 BPM and integrate seamlessly within the Elastik engine, allowing straightforward tempo and key adjustments for most contemporary production contexts.
The sonic character reflects the instrument's acoustic origins while embracing electric saturation and sustain. This makes the library particularly effective for producers working in psychedelic rock, experimental pop, and cinematic applications where exotic textural elements enhance rather than dominate a mix. The dual amp and DI versions provide flexibility for further processing - reverb and delay are obvious choices, though careful EQ can help integrate the sitar's distinctive frequency profile into various mixes.

Supporting loops across percussion kits, electric bass, and live session material demonstrate thoughtful library design. The percussion recordings, captured live and deliberately unquantized, provide organic rhythmic foundation without the clinical precision that often plagues sampled drum content. This pairing of sitar with naturally performed accompaniment suggests the library functions effectively as a complete production toolkit rather than a single-instrument collection.
For producers seeking distinctive melodic and textural elements beyond standard synth sources, Electric Sitar delivers genuine character with professional execution and practical usability.
