About this plugin
The Stonegrabber D-232 expansion brings a meticulously captured German concert grand into the Attracktive ecosystem with genuine sonic depth. This library samples a semi-concert instrument across six velocity layers, employing four-microphone recording techniques in both omnidirectional and XY stereo configurations. That dual-microphone approach matters; it grants users meaningful control over the perceived space and proximity of the instrument, allowing you to dial between an intimate close-mic perspective and a more ambient concert hall character.
The sonic signature lands squarely in the European tradition - warm, slightly dark, with pronounced sustain and a naturally rounded treble response. This isn't the bright, articulate character of some modern instruments; instead, the D-232 delivers the kind of tonal complexity that rewards both classical repertoire and jazz voicings. The hammer attack carries weight without brittleness, and the resonance develops organically as notes sustain. For producers working in contemporary classical, neoclassical, or sophisticated jazz settings, that warmth proves immediately useful.

At 360 stereo samples across nine presets, the expansion pack offers enough variation for most production contexts without overwhelming parameter choice. Integration with Attracktive's platform means the library inherits the host's processing capabilities, allowing producers to shape the sound further if needed.
The D-232 occupies a specific niche - serious enough for recorded work, but approachable for composers seeking character without excessive CPU weight. It's a thoughtful addition for those whose projects benefit from a distinctly German tonal palette.
