About this plugin
The SA-1000 Expansion Pack resurrects Roland's 1980s approach to electric piano synthesis, bringing Structured Adaptive Synthesis into Attracktive's modular environment. Rather than relying on sample playback alone, this expansion generates its tones through SA synthesis, a technique that captured the harmonic complexity of acoustic pianos while enabling the character shaping that made 80s Rolands distinctive.
The expansion includes all 100 presets from the original RD-1000, spanning convincing acoustic piano emulations and the lush, slightly compressed electric pianos that defined that era's R&B, pop, and progressive rock production. Beyond the presets themselves, you get full access to the underlying parameters - chorus, tremolo, and equalization controls that shaped the original instrument's sound. This parametric depth distinguishes it from straightforward sample-based alternatives, allowing genuine sound design rather than cosmetic tweaking.

The sonic character leans warmly analog despite its digital origins. There's a particular sweetness in the midrange and a naturalness in the decay that feels less synthetic than contemporary digital piano alternatives, though without pretending to compete with modern sampling techniques. This makes the expansion particularly valuable for producers seeking period-authentic tones or those drawn to the slightly processed, characterful sound that defined 80s keyboard work.
The pack suits engineers and producers working with vintage production aesthetics, session musicians needing reliable electric piano sounds within a DAW workflow, and Attracktive users seeking synthesis-based alternatives to conventional piano plugins. Its technical foundation and preset depth make it a legitimate addition rather than a novelty expansion.
