About this plugin
The PEQ 3000 brings Midas' console-proven EQ topology into the DAW with twelve parametric bands per channel, offering the smooth, musical response that has defined the company's mixing desks for decades. Built on 64-bit floating point processing and supporting sample rates up to 192 kHz, the plugin delivers transparent, phase-coherent audio processing without the artifacts that plague lesser implementations.
Where the PEQ 3000 distinguishes itself is in its control philosophy. Rather than abstract digital interfaces, TC Electronic modeled the plugin's workflow after analog console operation, with intuitive parameter layout and real-time visual feedback through an integrated analyzer. This approach makes broad tonal shaping intuitive while preserving the precision necessary for surgical corrective work. The dual-channel architecture allows linked or independent processing, practical for stereo sources or parallel compression chains.

The plugin's sonic character leans toward musicality over clinical flatness. The Midas house sound, refined across decades of live mixing, favors transparent presence peaks and smooth low-end tailoring rather than aggressive scooping. This makes it equally suited for source material EQing and bus processing, where its natural response curve maintains cohesion across a mix.
The PEQ 3000 serves mixing engineers accustomed to console workflows, producers seeking professional-grade EQ without excessive menu diving, and mastering engineers valuing phase integrity and high-resolution processing. It occupies a compelling middle ground between simplified graphic EQs and overcomplicated parametric tools, making it a reliable workhorse for serious studio and live sound applications.
