About this plugin
SUPRA represents a deliberate departure from the sterile preset culture that dominates modern soft synths. Developed in collaboration with Algebra Within and producer darkInteger, this monophonic synthesizer prioritizes organic instability and harmonic complexity over clinical precision.
The architecture unfolds across six sequential DSP stages, each contributing distinct coloration. The core triangle oscillator employs analog-style pitch drift through a dual-sine generator, immediately establishing the vintage character that defines SUPRA's sonic signature. An asymmetric diode waveshaper adds subtle saturation reminiscent of classic hardware circuits. The FM modulator stage follows, driving the carrier with high-frequency modulation to generate rich, unpredictable harmonics that respond dramatically to parameter adjustments.

A granular engine captures incoming audio and transforms it into pitched, evolving clouds - a particularly effective tool for ambient synthesis and textural experimentation. Morphing resonant filters provide dynamic tonal shaping, while a shimmering delay line introduces spatial depth. The signal path culminates in a pitch-shifting feedback delay capable of generating cascading, self-evolving trails that reward extended exploration.
SUPRA excels for producers seeking unconventional bass synthesis, atmospheric sound design, and experimental textures. Its randomizer functions encourage happy accidents rather than predictable results. Unlike conventional synths optimized for musical precision, SUPRA embraces controlled chaos - the very unpredictability that distinguishes analog hardware from digital recreation.
This instrument suits psytrance producers, ambient designers, and sound designers comfortable with non-linear workflow. For those accustomed to precise parameter control, SUPRA's philosophy may feel counterintuitive. For those prioritizing character and discovery, it delivers genuine innovation.
