About this plugin
Soundtoys Effect Rack consolidates 14 of the company's most widely used processors into a single plugin architecture built around flexible signal routing and global parameter control. The collection spans essential categories: saturation through Decapitator and Radiator, delay via EchoBoy and PrimalTap, modulation with Tremolator and FilterFreak, and pitch effects including Crystallizer and MicroShift. This breadth allows producers to construct comprehensive effect chains without plugin slot constraints, though notably absent are the Little series variants and some specialized tools from Soundtoys' broader catalog.
The Rack's defining feature is its Recycle control, which feeds the output back into the input to generate feedback-based textures. Combined with tempo sync options for rhythmic effects and a parallel mix control, this architecture enables sophisticated layering uncommon in traditional serial chains. The global Mix knob functions as a blend control across the entire effect stack, simplifying parallel processing workflows that typically require additional mixer routing.

Effect Rack suits producers and engineers prioritizing creative experimentation within a single plugin instance. The preset system preserves custom chains, addressing a practical workflow advantage over juggling multiple plugins. However, users relying on individual effect parameters for surgical tone shaping may find the global controls limiting compared to standalone versions.
Sonically, the included effects maintain Soundtoys' characteristic polish and analog modeling quality. The Rack represents a legitimate consolidation tool rather than a simplified compromise, making it particularly valuable for film and game audio work where creative effects stacking is essential and system resources matter.
