About this plugin
Voice of Wind: Audrey represents a substantial addition to Soundiron's modular vocal library, delivering a professionally sampled mezzo-soprano with genuine versatility across classical, folk, blues, and contemporary idioms. The 2.38 GB library captures Audrey Howitt's naturally warm, articulate voice across six core vowels with comprehensive articulation coverage: sustains, eight-way round-robin staccatos, and true legato transitions that enable fluid melodic passages without obvious seams.
The chromatic articulation set provides essential building blocks for compositional work, offering precise control over pitch and timing. More distinctive is the phrase library, which contains over 1,000 professionally recorded vocal phrases organized intuitively by mood, key, and tempo. The dual-tempo approach - separating 100bpm and 140bpm material with distinct Bright and Dark character variations, plus a specialized 120bpm Hummed category - gives composers flexible options without requiring extensive time-stretching or pitch-shifting that typically degrades vocal quality.

The inclusion of 20 custom FX and ambient presets acknowledges practical workflow needs, though the core value lies in the sampled material itself rather than processing. The interface implements tempo-syncing and key-mapping functionality that simplifies integration into existing projects.
This library suits film composers, game audio designers, and electronic music producers seeking a versatile female voice without hiring session vocalists. The mezzo-soprano range and stylistic breadth make it particularly valuable for projects requiring emotional nuance. While not a replacement for live recording, it represents a competent middle ground between generic vocal libraries and bespoke recording sessions, with sufficient articulation detail to convince in close-miked contexts.
