About this plugin
Clavi Twin '78 is a meticulously sampled virtual instrument capturing the distinctive character of a heavily used vintage Hohner Clavinet Pianet Duo. Soundiron's sampling approach prioritizes authenticity, recording all 60 keys across four velocity layers with four round robin variations per note, then separately capturing key-up and key-down transients to preserve the mechanical nuance that defines these instruments. The inclusion of both direct line and wide stereo capture options provides mixing flexibility without sacrificing the aggressive, percussive attack that made Clavinets indispensable in funk and soul production.
The sonic palette extends beyond straight sampling. Twenty ambient soundscapes derived from the source material establish atmospheric context, while twenty custom FX presets demonstrate practical signal chain approaches. A full effects rack featuring convolution reverb with multiple room impulses, alongside onboard LFO, filter, glide, and arpeggiator controls, enables substantial sound design iteration without external processing.

This instrument serves producers and composers working across genre boundaries - from contemporary funk and R&B producers seeking authentic rhythmic textures to film and television composers requiring period-appropriate instrumentation with modern workflow integration. The 13.2 GB library at 24-bit / 48 kHz resolution reflects professional production standards.
Clavi Twin '78 occupies a specific niche among Clavinet libraries: its strength lies in preservation of mechanical imperfection and tonal complexity rather than sterile accuracy. For engineers seeking the worn character that made Stevie Wonder and contemporaries' recordings distinctive, this represents a substantive alternative to both hardware solutions and more generalized keyboard libraries.
