About this plugin
Sound Particles' Space Controller Studio represents a significant departure from traditional surround panning workflows. Rather than manipulating position through knobs, faders, or joysticks, the plugin leverages your mobile device's motion sensors to translate physical movement into spatial audio placement. Connect an iOS or Android device via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, point it in the direction you want sound to occupy, and the plugin responds in real time. This gesture-based approach proves particularly valuable in immersive formats where conventional interfaces become cumbersome.
The technical implementation supports the full spectrum of modern audio formats. Whether working in stereo, 5.1, 7.1, Dolby Atmos, higher-order ambisonics, or binaural, Space Controller adapts seamlessly. The plugin offers both Cube and Sphere coordinate systems, accommodating different spatial visualization preferences. Four operational modes - Mono, Dual, Rotation, and Symmetric - provide flexibility for various mixing scenarios, from precise individual source placement to field-wide manipulation.

Space Controller Studio proves most valuable in post-production and immersive music mixing where spatial precision matters and mixing sessions span extended periods. The intuitive physical interface reduces cognitive load compared to parameter-based approaches, enabling faster creative iteration. Individual parameter locks and source sizing controls offer the refinement necessary for professional-grade mixing, while multiple viewing angles ensure consistent spatial awareness.
The plugin occupies a unique position in the market. While competing solutions exist, few match the combination of motion-sensor integration, format flexibility, and mixing-stage reliability that Space Controller delivers. For engineers invested in immersive production or those seeking to streamline surround workflows, it represents a genuinely practical alternative to conventional panning paradigms.
