About this plugin
AudioMatrix is a channel routing utility that addresses a genuine workflow problem in modern audio production: the need to quickly reconfigure multichannel signals without leaving your DAW. Built by Sound Particles, it handles the practical demands of working across incompatible delivery formats and speaker configurations with straightforward efficiency.
The plugin's core function is straightforward - route any input channel to any output channel with independent gain and polarity control across up to 64 channels. Where it proves valuable is in the specifics. Gain management includes common attenuation values ( - 3dB, - 6dB) alongside custom settings, eliminating the need for separate gain plugins when you need precise, preset adjustments. Polarity inversion on individual channels becomes essential for mid-side conversions, subwoofer alignment, and phase-critical mixing scenarios.

Beyond basic routing, AudioMatrix includes several purposeful features. Speaker array management lets you repurpose channels intelligently - playing 5.1 content through a 7.1 system with appropriate level compensation, for instance. The "Bring to Center" function temporarily routes signals for spatial adjustment when mixing immersive content. Mirror mode provides left-right flipping across stereo and surround formats, useful for image optimization.
AudioMatrix is most relevant for post-production professionals, immersive mixing specialists, and mixing engineers who regularly work with multiple delivery formats. It's also valuable for anyone needing to convert between stereo, surround, and immersive standards without resorting to complex session rewiring. In a crowded field of routing solutions, AudioMatrix distinguishes itself through straightforward design and genuine support for contemporary multichannel workflows rather than specialized sonic processing.
