About this plugin
Sonible's pure:EQ represents a practical distillation of intelligent equalization for producers and engineers seeking quick, sonically coherent results without deep parameter diving. Built on the same AI-driven spectral analysis engine as the company's more feature-rich smart:EQ 3, this plugin automatically generates EQ curves based on detected source material - vocal, instrument, drum, or mix - then applies corrective and tonal shaping through a streamlined interface.
The core workflow centers on a single Balance fader that simultaneously reduces frequency build-ups and reinforces deficient regions across the spectrum. A Dynamic control allows the EQ response to evolve in real time, adapting to material that shifts throughout a track. The Style selector (Warm, Neutral, Bright) provides immediate character adjustment without requiring individual band manipulation, while Range controls restrict processing to a specified frequency window, preserving untouched sub-bass or air.

Sonible's sonic character leans toward transparent, musically intelligent correction rather than aggressive coloration. The processing quality reflects the company's emphasis on high-fidelity signal handling, avoiding the artifacts that can emerge from aggressive AI-based EQ.
pure:EQ suits mixing engineers handling diverse material at speed, content creators prioritizing workflow efficiency, and less experienced producers who benefit from the plugin's intelligent starting points. Among comparable tools like iZotope's Smart Series or the built-in EQ on modern DAWs, pure:EQ occupies a middle ground - more sophisticated than basic parametric EQ, yet more accessible than comprehensive smart processing suites. It works best as a first-pass corrective tool rather than a creative sound-design instrument.
