About this plugin
Sonible's Metering Bundle pairs two specialized analysis tools designed to address distinct mixing challenges: spectral balance and loudness dynamics. True:balance functions as a real-time spectrum analyzer with genre-specific and custom reference comparison capabilities, allowing engineers to evaluate mix distribution across frequency ranges while monitoring stereo correlation and mono compatibility. The plugin displays both instantaneous and averaged spectral data, with target indicators that highlight deviation from chosen references. True:level provides complementary loudness and dynamic range metering, giving insight into how your mix translates across different playback contexts and listening levels.
The technical approach prioritizes clarity over information overload. Rather than presenting overwhelming detail, both tools distill analysis into actionable metrics. True:balance's balance check feature offers concrete suggestions for corrective mixing moves, while lows/mids/highs comparisons keep focus on overall distribution rather than narrow frequency concerns. This methodology proves particularly effective for engineers mixing across unfamiliar genres or lacking reference material.

The bundle suits mixing engineers and mastering professionals seeking objective feedback on fundamental mix characteristics. It's particularly valuable for remote sessions where acoustic treatment and monitor reliability remain variables, and for engineers developing reference listening skills. While spectrum analysis and loudness metering exist across numerous plugins, Sonible's execution emphasizes practical workflow integration rather than academic comprehensiveness.
Among comparable metering suites, the Metering Bundle distinguishes itself through intuitive interface design and reference-based guidance. The combination addresses both spectral and dynamic domains without requiring multiple monitoring solutions, making it a rational choice for facilities managing plugin count and cognitive load during critical mixing phases.
