About this plugin
The Volume 6 collection represents a significant step forward for Softube users holding earlier iterations, delivering a curated selection of modeling tools that address the full mixing and mastering chain with tangible sonic improvements. This upgrade packages collaborations with recognized hardware manufacturers including Weiss, Summit Audio, Drawmer, and Marshall, resulting in emulations that prioritize accuracy over marketing claims.
The bundle's centerpiece, the FET Compressor Mk II, stands apart from the saturated market of 1176 emulations through meticulous re-engineering rather than superficial updates. Its 20-microsecond attack time remains uncompromised, but the addition of modern workflow features - Drive, Stereo Link, sidechain control, and high-frequency makeup gain - makes it genuinely useful for contemporary DAW-based sessions without sacrificing the character that made the original indispensable on vocals and drums.

Complementing this is the OPTO Compressor, which takes a different approach to gain reduction, offering the smooth, musical response that engineers have relied upon for decades. The collection fills genuine gaps in a working studio rather than duplicating capabilities users likely already possess.
This upgrade path suits engineers who've grown beyond Volume 2 but don't need a complete rebuy. Compared to purchasing individual point solutions, the bundle offers tangible value, particularly for mastering engineers and serious mix professionals who require tools that exhibit genuine sonic character rather than transparent processing. It's investment-grade rather than aspirational software.
