Softube's Trident A-Range recreates channel 15 from the legendary 1970s Trident A-Range console at Sweet Silence Studios, a 24-input desk of which only thirteen were ever manufactured. This particular channel is renowned for its presence on Metallica's foundational thrash records and Rainbow's defining hard rock albums, tracked by producer Flemming Rasmussen.
The plugin models four parametric EQ bands plus high and low pass filters with considerable accuracy. What distinguishes it sonically is less its technical specification than its organic behavior under load.
