About this plugin
Softube's Amp Room Vintage Suite distills four decades of iconic tube amplifier design into a single, deeply capable plugin. The collection spans the clean headroom of the mid-1960s Pacific Dual Tremolo (available in both blackface and silverface configurations), the characteristically jangly bite of the early-60s AC30 Top Boost, and the thick, saturated midrange of the late-70s British Custom 100W. This combination provides genuine tonal range, from pristine cleans and semi-dirty blues to full-bodied rock saturation.
The plugin's architecture reflects serious attention to amp behavior. Each model captures the nonlinear response of its hardware counterpart, including power amp compression and tube sag characteristics. The inclusion of five cabinet impulse responses with moveable microphone positioning allows producers to shape not just gain staging but also spatial character and proximity effect. The parametric EQ and comprehensive stompbox collection - eleven units covering drives, modulation, and ambience - transform Vintage Suite from a straightforward amp simulator into a complete signal chain.

Vintage Suite serves producers working across pop, rock, and indie production where guitar tone carries historical weight. The AC30 excels on rhythm work with its natural breakup; the Pacific models deliver the clean foundation that defined countless American records; the Custom 100W handles heavier rock material with authority. The presets provide starting points, but experienced engineers will find the real value in the amp's responsive feel and the precision afforded by microphone placement and EQ controls. This is a serious tool for producers and mix engineers prioritizing tonal authenticity without sacrificing modern workflow efficiency.
