About this plugin
AmpliTube 5 represents a significant refinement in digital guitar and bass amplification modeling, built on two decades of IK Multimedia's research into dynamic interaction modeling. The software captures the complex interplay between components using proprietary DIM and VIR technology, which accounts for how vintage transformers, tube circuits, and speaker impedance respond under load - factors that distinguish convincing emulations from merely adequate ones.
The core appeal lies in breadth and routing flexibility. Over 180 gear models span the complete signal chain: stomps, amps, cabinets with speaker-specific impulse responses, microphones, and rack processors. The redesigned signal path supports up to 57 simultaneous models with series / parallel routing and blended DI capability, enabling configurations impossible on hardware rigs. The new cabinet section incorporates over 143,000 impulse response measurements across 100+ cabinets, fundamentally transforming tonal accuracy.

Beyond tone-shaping, AmpliTube 5 functions as a complete recording environment. The integrated 8-track DAW with mixer, advanced looper, and precision UltraTuner utility cover most recording and practice scenarios without external software. Stage-ready Live Mode addresses working musicians' needs.
This upgrade suits engineers and producers already invested in IK's ecosystem who require enhanced routing and cabinet modeling. For newcomers, the full version offers identical features. The software competes effectively with Native Instruments Guitar Rig and Universal Audio's Volt series, though its cabinet modeling through VIR technology remains notably sophisticated. AmpliTube 5 succeeds as both a creative design tool and a practical replacement for hardware during tracking or gigging.
