About this plugin
Corrosion v2 is a distortion plugin that distinguishes itself through thoughtful engineering rather than marketing excess. Built on a 4x oversampled DSP architecture with analog-style anti-aliasing filters, it delivers the smooth, artifact-free distortion character that oversampling promises in theory but often fails to execute convincingly in practice. The 15 included algorithms range from straightforward clippers and folders to proprietary Sinevibes designs that produce distinctive harmonic coloration without harsh aliasing artifacts.
What sets Corrosion apart operationally is its frequency control system. The simultaneous adjustment of the upsampling filter cutoff and a high-pass filter on the dry signal path allows users to isolate distortion to specific frequency ranges. This means you can apply aggressive nonlinear processing to midrange elements while preserving low-end definition and high-frequency clarity - a capability that justifies the plugin's place on professional mixing chains.

The gain structure extends to 24 dB with a tilt control for natural stereo width manipulation, while an exponential gate handles both practical noise reduction on tracked sources and creative audio destruction. Parameter lag filters eliminate clicks from automation, a detail indicating Sinevibes understands production workflow.
Corrosion v2 suits engineers seeking distortion beyond standard saturation emulations - those working with electronic music, experimental production, or parallel compression chains where character matters more than transparency. It occupies middle ground between boutique saturation plugins and all-in-one multiband processors. For Mac-based workflows, it remains a competent choice for anyone who values sonic refinement alongside creative flexibility.
