About this plugin
iZotope's RX 12 Standard represents a meaningful refinement of the industry's most widely deployed audio restoration toolkit. This update builds on RX 11's already formidable foundation, introducing enhanced machine learning capabilities across its restoration modules while maintaining the surgical precision that defines the platform.
The core strength of RX 12 Standard remains its comprehensive approach to audio remediation. The toolkit addresses production problems that would otherwise require costly re-recording: dialogue noise, hum removal, click elimination, and spectral repair all operate with sufficient sophistication to preserve signal integrity while removing unwanted artifacts. The spectral editor continues to function as an invaluable tool for detailed surgical work, though the updated machine learning modules now handle more complex tonal artifacts with reduced user intervention.

The update particularly benefits post-production professionals working under deadline pressure. The Repair Assistant, enhanced in this iteration, accelerates workflow by analyzing problematic audio and suggesting appropriate processing chains - a meaningful timesaver for engineers processing hours of dialogue or location recordings. For music producers, the sibilance control and intonation correction modules offer transparent character when applied judiciously.
RX 12 Standard occupies a deliberate middle ground between iZotope's Advanced tier and entry-level restoration tools from competitors. It's purpose-built for professional post-production environments, music mastering, and serious home recording operations where production audio quality cannot be guaranteed. Whether managing imperfect dialogue tracks or salvaging marginal recordings, RX 12 Standard delivers the balance between automation and control that distinguishes it among restoration platforms.
