About this plugin
RX 12 Advanced represents iZotope's comprehensive audio restoration platform, offering elements-level users a substantial expansion into professional-grade post-production workflows. This upgrade bundle delivers 50+ specialized tools addressing the full spectrum of audio defects encountered in dialogue, music, and location recording contexts.
The core technical approach leverages machine learning algorithms alongside traditional spectral processing, positioning RX as distinctly user-directed rather than automatic. The new Scene Rebalance module exemplifies this philosophy, enabling surgical adjustment of dialogue, music, and effects without time-consuming re-recording or ADR sessions. The Repair Assistant streamlines common workflows by intelligently guiding users toward appropriate tools, while advanced modules like De-esser and Intonation Editor provide granular control over specific sonic problems.

RX 12 Advanced functions both as a standalone editor and as a plugin suite for major DAWs, making it equally viable for mixing engineers, post-production specialists, podcast producers, and music engineers addressing challenging source material. The software's technical pedigree is substantial, with documented use across Oscar, GRAMMY, and Emmy-winning productions, alongside multiple technical Academy Award recognitions.
Among competing restoration platforms, RX maintains leadership through its breadth of integrated tools and sophisticated machine learning implementation that doesn't sacrifice manual control. For users upgrading from Elements or Elements Suite, RX 12 Advanced represents a significant capability leap, providing access to advanced spectral analysis, dialogue editing, and project-scale restoration features previously restricted to the full Advanced tier. The upgrade path positions it as a logical choice for producers outgrowing entry-level audio editing.
