MasterMagic is a mastering-grade processor from Rob Papen designed for insertion at the end of a mix chain. It combines two complementary tools: a high-frequency presence enhancer and a frequency-dependent stereo management system, each independently engaged. The Air function operates as a shelving-style booster targeting the upper midrange and treble above 30kHz with a broad, musically transparent curve. Rather than introducing harshness, it works by extending the perceived airiness and dimensionality of a mix, particularly effective on sources that have been compressed or darkened during mixing. The control is surgical enough that even minimal amounts produce audible results without fatiguing.

The Mono / Stereo split filter addresses a common mastering challenge by isolating low-frequency content to the center channel while preserving stereo width in the mids and highs. This tightens the low end without sacrificing the stereo imaging that defines modern mixes, addressing phase coherency issues that emerge during playback on smaller speakers. The crossover frequency is adjustable, allowing engineers to target precisely where their mix loses focus.

MasterMagic suits mastering engineers and mixing professionals working across genres where precision and transparency matter. The preset system includes A / B slot variations for quick comparison, while the plugin's modest CPU footprint makes it practical for real-time monitoring. Though positioned as a master section utility, it functions equally well as a surgical EQ and stereo management tool on individual tracks.
