About this plugin
Resonance Sound's Flight Path represents a focused approach to dynamic spectral processing, designed specifically as a companion tool for their LuSH-101 mastering chain. Rather than functioning as a standalone multi-band processor, Flight Path operates as a precision routing and automation layer that enables frequency-dependent gain riding across the full spectrum with sample-accurate control.
The plugin excels at addressing phase-coherent problems that emerge during loudness optimization, particularly the spectral imbalance that results from heavy compression or limiting. Its technical implementation relies on minimum-phase filtering, which preserves temporal integrity while allowing surgical intervention in problem frequency ranges. This matters considerably when working at high LUFS targets where conventional EQ introduces artifacts.

Flight Path's strength lies in its ability to coordinate with mid-side processing chains and feed external sidechain sources, making it particularly valuable for engineers working across broadcast and streaming deliverables simultaneously. The automation resolution supports sample-level precision, enabling dynamic response to temporal variations in mix content - useful for correcting momentary brightness shifts without introducing pumping artifacts.
Compared to broader spectral tools like iZotope's RX or Weiss's DS1-MK3, Flight Path trades generalist capability for surgical precision within a narrower application space. It occupies the niche between parametric EQ and full-range dynamics, best suited for mastering engineers and mix refinement work rather than general-purpose production. The plugin demands understanding of frequency relationships and sidechain routing fundamentals from its operators, positioning it as a specialist's tool rather than a shortcut solution.
