About this plugin
PSP auralControl is a multichannel processor designed to address the practical demands of surround mixing at professional standards. Rather than offering creative effects, it functions as a precision utility for managing individual channel characteristics across predefined formats like 5.1, 7.1, and Atmos configurations.
The plugin's core strength lies in its single-window architecture, which consolidates level, polarity, bandwidth, and delay adjustments for each channel without requiring multiple windows or switching between views. This accessibility makes it genuinely useful during critical mixing phases where quick adjustments to channel balance or frequency response become necessary. Peak metering per channel, solo and mute functionality, and direct HPF/LPF access streamline monitoring and gain staging tasks that would otherwise demand numerous auxiliary tools.

The delay section proves particularly valuable for spatial correction work. Users can establish distinct pre-delay values across channel groups, useful for correcting phase relationships between main and surround elements or crafting reverb sends with depth variation. The polarity invert and automation recording with relative or reversed linking provide flexible control for complex multichannel operations.
PSP auralControl occupies a specific niche within professional workflows. It's not a creative effect but rather an organizational and corrective tool, most applicable to engineers mixing immersive content or managing multichannel stems that require systematic rebalancing. Among similar tools, its straightforward approach and comprehensive feature set without unnecessary complexity make it a standard reference in facilities handling regular surround projects. For stereo-focused engineers, its value remains limited, but for those working regularly with multichannel material, it represents standard professional equipment.
