About this plugin
Sandman Pro represents a thoughtful expansion of Unfiltered Audio's already capable delay engine, addressing real workflow needs rather than simply adding features for their own sake. The core appeal remains the Sleep mode freeze function, which captures and manipulates delay buffer content with genuine creative potential. Where the original excelled at unconventional applications, Pro adds seven distinct delay modes that finally make it a credible choice for conventional mixing scenarios alongside its experimental strengths.
The new Classic Tape mode delivers convincing saturation and flutter without sacrificing the plugin's fundamental character. Multi-Tap mode, offering 16 simultaneous delay lines, proves genuinely useful for thick vocal doubling and architectural echo effects rather than gimmicky. Modern Instant mode addresses a genuine limitation in delay-based modulation by enabling time variance without pitch artifacts - a technical achievement that matters in professional contexts. Reverse mode produces clean backwards echoes that actually maintain musicality, while Pitch Shifter mode handles both functional vocal harmonies and atmospheric shimmer work competently.

The 16-minute maximum delay time seems excessive until you consider ambient applications and drone-based sound design, where it becomes functional rather than theatrical. Glitch Shifter and No Echo modes lean into Sandman's design DNA - useful for sound designers and electronic musicians willing to embrace its eccentricities.
Sandman Pro occupies an unusual position. It's genuinely capable for mixing engineers requiring dependable delay, yet maintains sufficient experimental architecture to engage producers seeking unconventional textures. It's not the most straightforward delay available, but it's precisely this friction that justifies its existence among the crowded field of delay plugins.
