About this plugin
Lindell Audio's TE-100 faithfully recreates the sonic signature of the rare Klein & Hummel UE-100, a hardware EQ built around 14 tubes and priced far beyond reach for most studios. The plugin captures this design through meticulous modeling, offering the warm, musical character that has made the original a staple for mastering engineers and top-tier mixing facilities.
The TE-100 employs six discrete filter modules arranged in a three-section architecture. Bookending the design are gentle low and high-pass filters, while the center section provides two parametric band-pass filters with adjustable bandwidth and frequency. The approach prioritizes musical curves over surgical precision, generating the dynamic EQ response that earned comparisons to "a Pultec on steroids." Boost or cut options span the audible spectrum, with pushbutton frequency selectors that lock into critical points while allowing fine-tuning by ear.

The plugin distinguishes itself through practical refinements unavailable on the original hardware. Internal oversampling prevents aliasing at extreme settings, while an analog mode introduces subtle coloration and noise characteristics extracted directly from Lindell's reference units. Gain adjustments resolve to 0.5 dB increments rather than the hardware's 2-3 dB stepping, providing greater control without sacrificing the essential sonic character.
This makes the TE-100 particularly suited for source tracking, vocal production, and mastering work where tonal warmth matters as much as frequency response accuracy. It competes effectively against modern emulations of classic tube designs while maintaining the approachable workflow that made the original hardware valuable to working professionals.
