About this plugin
Movement stands as Output's most ambitious effects engine to date, distinguished by its approach to rhythmic modulation rather than traditional time-based effects. The plugin excels at imposing tempo-locked rhythmic structures onto any audio source through four parallel rhythm engines, each equipped with sidechain, LFO, and step sequencer modulation capabilities. What separates Movement from conventional rhythm plugins is its architecture: the source signal remains unprocessed in parallel, allowing surgical control over wet/dry balance while rhythmic elements modulate across 76 available parameters.
The advanced sidechain system warrants particular attention for experienced users. Rather than applying sidechain compression in isolation, Movement enables the input source itself to modulate up to 38 parameters simultaneously across filters, reverbs, distortion, EQ, delays, and compressors. This inverts typical sidechain workflows, opening possibilities for responsive, input-dependent rhythmic processing that reacts organically to performance dynamics.

Output's Flux randomizer and preset library of 300+ rhythmic patterns position Movement as a hybrid tool: equally viable for studio automation and live performance. The XY pad facilitates real-time parameter morphing, though seasoned users will find the greatest utility in deeper parameter automation and sidechain configuration rather than pad manipulation alone.
Movement suits producers seeking rhythmic processing beyond beat-synchronized dynamics. Session musicians, remix engineers, and live performers will appreciate the tempo-locking architecture and parallel processing design. However, the plugin's strength lies less in preset browsing and more in exploiting its advanced modulation capabilities to create responsive, input-dependent effects rather than fixed rhythmic patterns.
