About this plugin
NUGEN Audio's Focus Elements Bundle offers a practical solution for engineers who need surgical control over stereo imaging and bass management without the complexity of full-featured plugins. The collection comprises three streamlined tools: Monofilter Elements, Stereoplacer Elements, and Stereoizer Elements, each addressing specific mixing challenges with focused functionality.
Monofilter Elements tackles a persistent problem in modern mixing: maintaining bass coherence when stereo effects are applied to upper frequencies. By allowing you to sum low frequencies to mono while preserving stereo width above a user-defined crossover point, it prevents the phase cancellation and image instability that plague vinyl masters and small-venue PA systems. The plugin proves particularly valuable during tracking and live mixing, where controlling unpredictable bass sources across multiple instruments becomes critical.

Stereoplacer Elements reconstructs damaged stereo images with frequency-specific panoramic control, making it useful for salvaging poorly-miked recordings or restoring archived material. Rather than applying broad stereo adjustments, you can target problematic frequencies independently.
The technical approach throughout the bundle prioritizes transparency and surgical precision. These aren't character-adding processors but rather corrective tools designed to integrate seamlessly into professional workflows. The streamlined interfaces make them accessible for quick decisions, while the underlying algorithms retain the sophistication of their full-featured counterparts.
This bundle appeals most to mastering engineers, live sound professionals, and producers working with challenging source material. While not a creative palette, it represents essential infrastructure for any serious mixing or mastering setup, particularly when vinyl and small-format playback are considerations.
