About this plugin
NUGEN Audio's Focus Bundle consolidates three essential mixing utilities into a cohesive toolkit designed specifically for stereo image control and low-frequency management. This upgrade maintains the core architecture of Focus Elements while streamlining workflow and improving integration across its constituent plugins.
The bundle comprises Stereoizer, Monofilter, and Imager - each addressing distinct mixing challenges. Stereoizer handles width enhancement through algorithms engineered to preserve mono compatibility, a critical distinction from conventional stereo widening that often collapses problematically when summed to mono. Monofilter isolates low frequencies, preventing phase cancellation and frequency masking by containing bass energy to the center channel, directly counteracting the mud introduced by stereo bass sources. Imager allows frequency-specific panning, enabling surgical placement of competing elements across the stereo field.

The technical foundation relies on phase-coherent processing that avoids the artificial artifacts - reverb tail, chorusing, delay artifacts - common to traditional enhancement methods. This approach makes the bundle particularly valuable in mastering contexts and for correcting poorly miked drum overheads, vocal ensembles, or room recordings where phase issues are endemic.
The upgrade targets mix engineers and mastering professionals seeking transparent stereo correction without sacrificing sonic integrity. While similar tools exist in Waves' lineup and iZotope's ecosystem, Focus Bundle's emphasis on mono compatibility and artifact-free expansion distinguishes it for professionals mixing across multiple playback systems or preparing work for broadcast and streaming platforms with varying compatibility standards.
