About this plugin
Session Guitarist - Electric Neon Essentials represents a deliberate departure from traditional guitar emulation libraries. Rather than pursuing acoustic fidelity, Native Instruments has engineered a purpose-built toolkit for electronic music production, pairing Strat-inspired electric tones with modern processing chains optimized for contemporary pop and EDM contexts.
The instrument operates on dual modes: a pattern-driven rhythm engine for textural layers and groove anchors, and an expressive lead instrument with nuanced articulation control for melodic passages. This architectural approach acknowledges the different functional roles guitars occupy in electronic production, where they typically serve as textural or rhythmic elements rather than primary voices.

The sonic character centers on a Strat platform with active pickups, processed through 30 hand-crafted FX and amp chains specifically voiced for digital contexts. Rather than targeting classic tube amp saturation, these presets emphasize clarity, presence, and integration within dense mixes - characteristics that distinguish this library from traditional amp modeling solutions. The palette ranges from punchy, compressed tones suitable for club-oriented tracks to atmospheric, heavily processed textures for ambient passages.
Kontakt 8 integration ensures seamless workflow compatibility with NKS ecosystem tools, eliminating friction common to third-party instruments. The absence of guitar performance requirements makes this accessible to producers without instrumental training.
Session Guitarist - Electric Neon Essentials occupies a specific market position: not a replacement for traditional guitar instruments, but rather a specialized production tool for electronic-forward music. It succeeds where versatile guitar libraries reach their limits - delivering immediately usable, professionally processed tones without requiring technical mixing expertise.
