About this plugin
Native Instruments' Hot Vocals expansion delivers a focused collection of contemporary R&B and pop vocal samples designed for producers working within modern urban music frameworks. The library centers on production-ready material: polished lead vocals, layered harmonies, and hook-oriented phrases that require minimal processing to integrate into finished mixes.
What distinguishes this expansion within Leap's ecosystem is its emphasis on performance manipulation. Rather than static loops, the included samples respond to Leap's core features - pitch shifting, time stretching, and granular slicing all respond intuitively to MIDI control. This approach proves valuable for producers who need to adapt vocal phrases across different tempos or harmonic contexts without the artifacts typical of conventional time-stretching algorithms. The playback engine handles both subtle modulation and more extreme creative mangling with reasonable fidelity.

The sonic palette leans contemporary, favoring clear diction and modern production aesthetics. Vocal characters tend toward R&B inflection - generous use of ad-libs, melismatic phrasing, and rhythmic precision. This specificity means the library works best for producers working within those genres rather than serving as a catch-all vocal toolkit.
The 0.17 GB footprint represents efficiency, though it also indicates selective sampling rather than comprehensive coverage. Hot Vocals functions best as a supplementary resource for those already versed in chopping and pitch-shifting workflows, rather than as a primary vocal source library. Its integration within Kontakt 8 and Komplete 15 makes it accessible for existing Native Instruments users seeking specialized material without additional software requirements.
