About this plugin
Guitar Rig 7 Pro represents a comprehensive overhaul of Native Instruments' modeling platform, expanding significantly beyond the LE version's foundational toolkit. The upgrade introduces four new amp models - the Super Fast 100, Reverb Delight, Bass Rage, and AC Box XV - each built using Impulse Convolution Modeling (ICM) technology and paired with cabinet modules derived from Ownhammer and 3 Sigma Audio impulse responses. This machine learning approach yields naturalistic amp behavior across gain structures, from pristine cleans to saturated leads, with a direct-to-room slider providing essential control over cabinet proximity and room character.
The sonic character leans toward vintage authenticity without sacrificing modern studio flexibility. The Reverb Delight and AC Box XV particularly excel for players seeking textured, breakup-prone responses reminiscent of classic British and American designs, while the Bass Rage extends the platform's utility into low-frequency territory with 300 watts of modeled tube saturation. Over 100 new rack presets provide immediate starting points, though the real value lies in the modular architecture allowing deep customization through mix-and-match signal chains.

This upgrade suits working producers and engineers who require transparent amp emulation with enough character to inspire rather than merely replicate. The Cabinet IR Loader integration grants compatibility with third-party impulse responses, essential for users maintaining established sonic libraries. While competitors like Amplitube and Helix offer comparable depth, Guitar Rig 7 Pro's emphasis on textural experimentation through lo-fi components and accessible effect stacking distinguishes it as a genuinely creative platform rather than purely utilitarian modeling software.
