About this plugin
Fables represents Native Instruments' most refined approach to orchestral sampling, delivering a curated collection of acoustic instruments and vocal ensembles designed for cinematic scoring and sophisticated hybrid production. Recorded at Sydney's Studios 301 with meticulous attention to microphone placement and natural room character, the library prioritizes authentic performance capture over pristine isolation, preserving the textural richness that distinguishes quality orchestral libraries.
The three-layer engine architecture enables genuine blending between instruments rather than simple layering, allowing producers to create coherent ensemble textures that respond as unified sonic entities. This approach distinguishes Fables from linear sample libraries, positioning it alongside sophisticated tools like Spitfire's Albion series in terms of workflow philosophy.

What sets Fables apart technically is its polyphonic aftertouch implementation, which grants independent control over volume, panning, filtering, pitch, and modulation for each voice within a performance. For engineers accustomed to detailed MIDI expression, this capability facilitates nuanced dynamic control that rewards deliberate touch-based performance rather than static programming.
The sonic palette spans string sections, dual vocal ensembles, woodwinds, tuned percussion, and unconventional elements like waterphone - a hybrid toolkit suited to contemporary scoring that blends orchestral authenticity with electronic sensibilities. The inclusion of multiple articulations and effect options provides flexibility for both traditional orchestration and experimental sound design.
Fables is best suited for composers seeking authentic orchestral foundations with modern expressiveness capabilities, and for electronic producers requiring organic textural layers that integrate naturally with digital synthesis. It occupies solid middle ground within the premium orchestral library landscape.
