About this plugin
Native Instruments' Alicia Keys Bundle grants producers access to two meticulously sampled keyboard instruments sourced directly from the artist's personal studio setup. The collection comprises Alicia's Keys, a virtual recreation of her Yamaha C3 Neo grand piano, and Alicia's Electric Keys, capturing her preferred electric keyboard textures.
The sampling methodology distinguishes this bundle from standard piano libraries. Working with sample specialist Thomas Skarbye and engineer Ann Mincieli, the development team employed vintage microphone and preamp chains to capture the C3 Neo's resonance with granular attention to playing dynamics and sustain characteristics. The resulting instrument exhibits warm, full-bodied low-end extension typical of concert grands, paired with articulate treble definition that responds authentically to velocity variation and pedal interaction.

Sonically, the bundle emphasizes mid-range warmth and harmonic richness rather than clinical precision. The piano exhibits subtle string resonance and sympathetic vibration that rewards expressive playing and layering approaches. The electric keys component broadens tonal palette toward Rhodes and Fender-style sounds, suitable for soul, R&B, and contemporary pop contexts.
The bundle integrates within Native Instruments' Kontakt ecosystem, enabling deep scripting customization and performance control. This positions it most effectively for producers prioritizing sonic authenticity in neo-soul, contemporary R&B, and piano-driven arrangements. While the sampling quality justifies investment for professional contexts, genre-specific voicing may limit application across electronic or experimental music applications where character-driven departure from acoustic piano is desirable.
